In Anticipation of Another Green Wave
Written by Eric Singualr
Next week (that’s right, we are less than seven days away from the 2020 election), voters in Arizona, Montana, New Jersey, and South Dakota, and Mississippi will make their voices heard on recreational and medical cannabis reform measures. The polls indicate the majority of voters support the reform measures in all five states. In 2016, we saw a green wave, and we could very well witness a sweep on November 3rd that would further showcase shifting public perception of cannabis reform in the United States. Perhaps what’s so interesting about the “cannabis issue” is that it garners support across demographics, geography, and the political divide. In addition, the economic downturn resulting from the pandemic may mobilize even more support for cannabis legalization as a means of economic recovery. At the end of the day, this is an essential industry.
